I just discovered this new distro. The installation in GNOME Boxes went smoothly. I'm currently running Debian 13, but if I don't run into any significant issues in the virtual environment, Soplos is definitely a potential replacement for my desktop.

        Hi Soplos folks,
Let me join as well and send my greetings from Hungary.
As a background, I use Linux since 1999, mainly Debian or its derivatives at home, and every kind of unixes at work.
I just found Soplos on Distrowatch, tried it in Virtualbox, then installed it on an older laptop.
I don't know what have you done to Debian, but it is flying on my old hardware.
Very snappy, no bloatware, great tools and the default theme is absolutely for me.
        Love at first sight.
        Congratulations. Keep it up.
        Thank you guys.

          Hi there, and welcome! 🇭🇺

Great to have someone with 25+ years of Linux/Unix experience trying Soplos — that kind of feedback means a lot.

Really glad to hear it's flying on your old laptop! That snappiness on modest hardware is exactly what we're aiming for — keeping things lean and avoiding bloat is a core priority for us.

Thanks so much for the kind words and for giving Soplos a shot. Enjoy, and don't hesitate to drop by if you ever run into anything or have suggestions! 🚀
